Admissions Process and Application

Admissions Process AND APPLICATION

We are here to answer any and all questions that you might have. Please reach out to us at any time, with any questions or concerns at: admissions@ifschool.org.

Step 1

Explore the International Friends School website. We are a new program, offering a departure model for Seattle/Bellevue and we appreciate the time it takes to become very familiar with our philosophy and to ask any questions that you might have. You may address questions to admissions@ifschool.org

Step 2

Come to one of our Parent Information Sessions. The dates and times are listed under Open Houses. You do not need to sign up! Come to one of our Parent Information Sessions. The dates and times are listed under Open Houses. You do not need to sign up, just show up and we will look forward to meeting you. We also look forward to sharing with you about the school and answering your questions in person.

Step 3

September 15th, the 2018-2019 written application process will be open. In order to sign up for a family interview with Co-Founders Sue Brooks or Alli Frank, you will need to have attended one parent information evening meeting, completed and submitted the written portion of the application process and paid the $75.00 application fee (The link to do this will be available on this page shortly).  Kindly email the application form to:  admissions@ifschool.org or you may hand it to one of our admissions staff in person at a parent information night.

After you have completed the application, paid the fee and attended an information session will then organize with you three important events:

One, we will schedule with you an in-person interview with one of our two founders and with the parents who are applying for placement. Children are not present for this interview.

Two, we will schedule your child to come to a peer play group so that we can have a better sense of what they are interested in doing, and how they interact with other children. You will receive an email about signing up for one of the three Saturday play dates on or by December 1, 2017.

Three, we will email you a letter of recommendation form to be filled out by an adult who has worked with your child in some sort of social learning capacity.  A preschool teacher, daycare director, music teacher etc… The letter of recommendation is to be sent directly back to the school no later than February 16, 2018.

On March 16, 2018 each family will receive an email with an admission decision and acceptance letter and intention to enroll (as a school philosophy we try to be electronic heavy and paper light). If the school is not fully enrolled by March 16th, the admission cycle will stay open on a rolling admissions basis.

Remember, at all times we are here to guide you through this process! Reach out at any time to admissions@ifschool.org. We are here to help and support you as you begin to understand if IFS is the right fit for your child.
